On 02/12/2022, the District Farmers Day celebration was marked in the district at the Rawlings Park in Fumbisi. The event was graced by highly honored dignitaries across the district. In all, eleven people received various awards for their Contributions to Agriculture in the District.
 
The District Chief Executive took the opportunity to mention a number of interventions of the Government in Builsa South which include: Planting for Food and Jobs which made inputs at subsidised prices to farmers; Rearing for Food and Jobs which saw the supply of Four thousand eight hundred poultry birds and feed to 40 women beneficiaries; Planting for Exports and Rural Development (PERD) Which brought in about 20,000 seedlings of Cashew, mango and acacia. All these distributed to farmers in the District; Construction of a 1000 metric warehouse in the District. Farmers have filled it to capacity with food stuff currently; Developed a number of the Rice Valleys in the District; Created over 1000 jobs in the rice sector alone in the District; Attracted the Construction of a rice Processing Factory due to the Abundance of rice as a result of the heavy Government intervention in the sector. You can get Masim rice from the factory in Fumbisi; and Attracted alot of tractor and combine harvester mechanisation services in he District due the huge farmer population in the District.
