Monitoring GPSNP 2 Project at Donninga Banyangsa

On 17/02/2024 the District Chief Executive, Hon. Daniel Kwame Gariba and some staff of the Assembly led a monitoring team from the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project to Doninga Banyangsa to monitor the construction of the Doninga-Banyangsa Road and also to interact with the Labour Intensive Public Works(LIPW) beneficiaries on site.

Handing over of SOCO Project Sites

On 14th November 2023, the Assembly handed over sites for the Construction of a culvert at Bachonsa Nyanbisa, Construction of a 1No. 3unit classroom block for JHS at the Amaachaab school in Kanjarga Logvogsa, Renovation of the Kanjarga market stores, Construction of a 1No. 3unit classroom block at Gbedema Gbenaasa, Sitting, Drilling and Installation of 23No. boreholes with handpump in 23 selected communities, and Construction and fencing of an animal market in Fumbisi.

Sod Cutting Ceremony of SOCO Projects.

On 25th October 2023, government paved way for the commencement of 582 Projects in five Regions of the North and Oti Region under the Gulf of Guinea, Northern Regions Social Cohesion Project (SOCO). Upper East gets 232 Projects out of the number.

In accordance with the Local Governance Act, an Executive Committee Meeting which precedes the General Assembly Meeting was held at August 19th 2023. The District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, Heads of Department and Assembly Members attended the meeting. Graduation of intermediate beneficiaries of the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project in Builsa South

On 07/07/2023 the District Chief Executive, Hon. Daniel Kwame Gariba tgraduated the intermediate beneficiaries of the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project in Builsa South this afternoon at the Cheerful Tortoise Conference Hall in Fumbisi. This is a Project of the Ghana Enterprise Agency spear headed by the hard working CEO, Madam Korsi Yankey.

Sensitization at Donninga Banyangsa

Earlier today, the Hon. DCE led a team from the Builsa South District Assembly to Doninga Banyangsa to Sensitize the Community on a four (4) kilometre Road the Assembly is Constructing under the Ghana National Productive safety Net Project(GPSNP ). The Banyangsa Community has been without an access road all these years. It therefore was great news when i announced that the road has been awarded and work will commence soon. This is a Labour Intensive Public Works Project and over Hundred people are expected to be recruited to help carry out this project.

Training of women on basic business skills under the Productive Inclusion (PI)) Component of the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project 2

Staff of the Department of Agriculture were in two communities,Jeningsa and Vundema both in Kanjarga to monitor the Disbursement of maize and fertiliser inputs to 164 farmers under the Ghana Land Restoration and Small Scale Mining Project. This Project is being implemented in only four Districts in the Region and Builsa South happens to be one of the beneficiary Districts.

Training of women on basic business skills under the Productive Inclusion (PI)) Component of the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project 2

Earlier today the Hon. DCE visited Doninga where the Builsa South District Assembly is training some women on basic business skills under the Productive Inclusion (PI)) Component of the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project. I took the opportunity to encourage them to take the training seriously as Government is determined to empower and equip the women and the vulnerable in our rural Communities. This Project will provide some moderate funding to support these trainees in their choice of business.

Training of 56 women in basic business skills

The Hon. DCE visited Vundema in Kanjarga where the Assembly through a pilot Programme from the World Food Programme( WFP). This pilot Program is training 56 women in basic business skills that will enable them apply the skills to turn around positively what ever Support the Programme will be assisting them with. He took the opportunity to advice them to take the training serious.

Engagement of Fulbe Community

Today, the Hon. DCE, Security men in my District, Immigration Comander and officers at the Paga Border engaged the Fulbe (Fulani) Community in Gbedemblisi on a number of issues. The Fulbe Community were very excited about this engagement and called for more of such positive discussions. The Hon. DCE also took on board their concerns such as provision of portable water and access to Education for their children, to which he promised to address.

Office of the Registrar of Companies,Tamale engages businesses

Today Zipline delivered 2000 vaccines by drone to the Builsa South District Assembly, Agric,Department for a District wide vaccination of cattle within the District. This is a quick response by Government in Partnership with FAO to curb the spread of Anthrax which has hit the Upper East Region. The district is expected to receive 14,000 vaccines in all.

Office of the Registrar of Companies,Tamale engages businesses

The Assembly invited the Office of the Registrar of Companies,the Tamale Office to have an outreach programme in the District to sensitize potential and existing businesses on the need to duly register their businesses. The participation was so impressive and above the expected number. We were able to do about 30 instant registrations and renewal of certificates. The vision is to make Builsa South an attractive business destination for all manner of businesses.

Handing over five hundred and fifty(550) pieces of furniture to GES

The Assembly handed over five hundred and fifty(550) pieces of furniture,translating to 1,100 seating spaces for pupils to the District Directorate of Education in Builsa South for onward Distribution to schools in dire need of them. This year alone the Assembly has presented 800 pieces of Furniture to schools in the District and plan to add more to solve the Furniture deficits in the District.

Builsa South District Assembly struck a major agreement in the Agricultural sector with Alsum Farms Ghana

On 2/04/2023 at the Builsa South District Assembly struck a major agreement in the Agricultural sector with Alsum Farms Ghana to operate a private Agric Mechanisation Centre this year onwards to help the farmers in the District and beyond. Alsum Farms agreed to our request to operate here based on the singular known fact that rice cultivation in Builsa South is bigger compared to other Districts in the Northern Sector. Their coming into the District will help farmers get tractors and other farm equipments at the right time to cultivate their Farms.
